CELEBRITY HUB D’banj And GTBank In Partnership For Concert

In what industry experts and show promoters are expecting to be one of the biggest concerts in recent times, Nigerian pop giant, D'banj and one of Nigeria's leading banks, Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) are staging a major music concert in Lagos.

According to insiders, the concert tagged 'DKM and Ndani TV Concert, Series1', which is being put together by D'banj's DKM Media and GTB owned Ndani TV will be the first in a series of concerts that will hold pan Nigeria.

GTB has been one of the frontline corporate organisations actively involved in the sponsorship and promotion of entertainment initiatives and events in Nigeria. Ndani TV which was launched in 2012 has become an entertainment hub for online viewers with interesting sessions that cover music, fashion, movies, business and tourism.

D'Banj and GTBank have been in business for more than a minute – and it wasn't surprising when the entertainer showed up in an Ndani branded top for his performance at the closing ceremony of the 2013 edition of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in February.

The June 23 concert which is scheduled to hold at the Expo Hall of the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos will be headlined byD'Banj and his rapper friend 2Chainz, alongside Congolese star Fally Ipupa and DB records' acts Kay Switch, singer,J Sol, producer, Jay Sleek.

One insider told NET over the weekend, that at least one more major US star will still join the line up. 'We are still negotiating with the management of Trey Songz and Kelly Rowland, so, once the negotiations come through, we will also make the announcement,' the source, who asked not to be named, said.

GTBank was one of the major sponsors of D'banj's 2012 Koko Concert.

A rep for the bank, believed to be part of the organizing team however declined to speak to NET about the concert, insisting that 'the details are still under wraps for now and we will only disclose when we would have finalized on the arrangements'.

Besides the DKM crew, recent collaborators of the Koko Master like indigenous yoruba rapper, Olamide and King of the Zanga, Durella are likely to be on the line up propping their earlier features on the DKM album.

Said one source: 'The surprise that we have planned out for this event is one that will shock Nigerians, something that they never saw coming. Something that will be talked about for a long time, so,  we plan not to let the cat out of the bag until that very day of the show'
