Gunmen Invade JAMB Registrar's Home

Unidentified gunmen have invaded the home of the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Professor Dibu Ojerinde.

The gunmen suspected to be hired assassins, invaded his home in Abuja, Nigeria's capital, in search of him.

Luckily, he was not at home when they arrived by scaling the fence in his home.

Sources said they forced their way through the back door and gained entrance into his house without the knowledge of the police guards and private guards at his residence.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the gunmen harassed his family, ransacked everywhere in his compound in search of him after which they left without taking even a pin.

After the incident, which occurred on Monday, was reported to the Maitama Police Area Command, the police moved in and arrested the private guards and policemen posted to Ojerinde's residence.

A police source confirmed to our correspondent Friday that those arrested are currently undergoing interrogation.

The incident is happening just a few days to the conduct of the Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination, UTME, which is slated for Saturday.
